AQUALCULTURE WITHOUT BORDER / PROJECTS

Youth and women in aquaculture

Aquaculture creates opportunities for youth and women in all levels of production. Empowering youth and women has far reaching positive impact to the society in improving nutrition, income and making society food secure. AWB aims to increase fish production by involving youth and women and in the long run to increase family income and improve nutrition. The extra income will enable youth to be self-reliant and women to support household expenses such as school fees, food, build better houses and save. By use of low cost technologies will ensure products are affordable to the rural communities whose income has always been low. Under this program, AWB will identify the key problems facing youth and women in fish farming, then devise a practical solution which will involve them. To make impact, we are supplying fish feeds and carrying out on-farm farm training and monitoring in all stages of aquaculture
