Aquaculture without Borders- GLOBAL

Why AWB is a global initiative: The reason is because almost half the world — over three billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. More than 80 percent of the world's population lives in countries where income differentials are widening..

Aquaculture is one of the sectors that addresses poverty and poor nutrition. This aligns well with the following United Nation’s sustainable development goals

Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere,

Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture,

Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work

Aquaculture is part of the solution. Join us to:

1. Create job opportunities-Empower fish farmers, youth and women

2. Improve livelihoods-increase income, better housing, clothing, health care.

3. Make communities healthier through better nutrition

4. Eradicate malnutrition in children

NB: Good nutrition=healthy prosperous population

AWB works directly with communities - supporting fish farmers, empowering youth and women.
